Meet the Lead Researcher: Robert Wade

I’m Robert Wade, the founder of the Wade Media Research Group and the lead tester here at Paw Gear Review.

My background in technical gear research (founding sites like Cookware Scout and Housewares Review) taught me one vital lesson: Material integrity matters most when lives are on the line. When I realized how much "tacticool" dog gear was actually made of inferior nylon and plastic clips that snap under pressure, I decided to apply my lab-testing background to the pet industry.

Every piece of gear on this site is evaluated through the lens of a researcher and the heart of a dog lover. I’m committed to finding the gear that keeps your dog safe, comfortable, and ready for anything.

The "Paw Gear Lab" Testing Protocol
Every product featured on Paw Gear Review undergoes our signature Stress-to-Success evaluation:

Tensile & Hardware Strength: We test D-rings, buckles, and stitching to ensure they won’t fail during a high-prey-drive "lunging" moment.

Bio-Mechanical Comfort: Does the harness restrict shoulder movement? Does the pack cause chafing? We look at the ergonomics of the dog, not just the aesthetics of the gear.

Environmental Durability: We soak, freeze, and "mud-test" gear to see how materials like Biothane, Cordura, and Ripstop hold up in the wild.
